Preparation process for becoming a consecrated virgin

    Some dioceses in the United States have adopted the "Preparation Process" published by the USACV in 2000. The document is accessible below, but a candidate is advised to use its contents only at the direction of her Bishop or Bishop's delegate.

    It is recommended that those virgins discerning a vocation to consecrated virginity lived in the world, those who have been accepted as candidates for the consecration, and newly consecrated virgins, attend an informational conference sponsored by the USACV.

    After careful discernment with her pastor and a spiritual director, a virgin who wishes to pursue a possible vocation to consecrated virginity lived in the world should contact her Bishop.
